No, we dont need to do it the mega-church way. But there is nothing inherently wrong with the mega-church either.

mega- and mini- both have their advantages…

I think that mega-churches have definite benefits, but I think it becomes very easy for them to fall into the ‘church-lite’ trap, with everything being about the feeling caused by the music etc.

Not that there is anything wrong with good music and high production values, but I think they are better suited to an event rather than being someone’s standard church meeting.

Hmmm…I’m not convinced by that. You get good and bad churches large and small. Sometimes I feel people are unnecessarily hostile to large churches.

My previous church regularly had around 800 adults in a service – my current church has about 40. So I’ve seen both sides!

To be honest, I enjoy a smaller church as you can get in there and be really involved and make a difference. At the same time, our “small church” is aiming to grow into a “big church”…

Fair enough I guess.
I think as a church gets bigger it should sub-divide and become more, smaller churches, rather than a big conglomerate of people.

I think it’s too easy for people to get lost in a big church. That’s my main gripe.
