A Sad Day for Australian Babies

December 7th, 2006 · Posted in Uncategorized · 9 Comments

The Australian parliament now allows human life to be created only to be destroyed in the name of ’science’. What I found even more disturbing is in the run-down of how the MPs voted.

By my count 22 female MPs voted in favour of killing babies, and only 7 voted against. The men were split exactly down the middle - 37* for, 37 against.

It is truly a sad day when women, who care for their young were so overwhelmingly in favour of creating babies only to kill them.

RodeoClown: loves babies more than most female MPs.

*I’m including the one MP who abstained from voting, which in my mind is a vote for.

Possibly Better News for Australian Babies

One of the conditions of the aforementioned allowing of baby-killing is that these children are only allowed to be killed in the first two weeks of their existence.

Logically following on from this, we should see laws passed outlawing abortion after the first two weeks, as obviously that is when a baby becomes important to the government. As it stands, a baby created purely to be destroyed for research purposes has more legal protection than an ‘inconvenient’ child - which you are allowed to murder after they are very obviously a child and not just a ‘lump of cells’.

RodeoClown: expects to see a surge in the birth/adoption rate in exactly eight-and-one-half months.

Tyrrells Minus One, Adams Plus One

My biggest little sister is getting married today. She and Ray (her fiancé - at least for the next six hours) have been going out longer than Jen and I.

I pray that they have a good wedding and a great marriage.

Here’s a (not at all doctored) photo of the happy couple holding my youngest son.

RodeoClown: good to see her go happy for them both.

A while ago I modified a wordpress plugin called WordPre.cio.us that harvested links from a del.icio.us page and added them to your site, (almost) automatically.

The original would produce a post for each day’s links, where I wanted a single post that would contain all the del.icio.us links since the last link post.

I received an email this morning asking how I made the link posts, so I figured I’d post the code here for anyone to use.

To Install

  1. unzip this file to your wordpress plugin directory.
  2. rename del2wp.config.php.example to del2wp.config.php
  3. edit that file and change settings to point to your own del.icio.us feed.
  4. that’s about it…

To Use

  1. Add links to del.icio.us
  2. When you want to generate a new post, goto http://www.yourdomain.com/path-to-script/del2wp.php in your browser (you’ll need to edit that link to point to where yours is located).
  3. if there are any new links to put into the post, that will be done and you’ll be shown what the new post contains. If not, the script will say so.
  4. again, that’s about it…

RodeoClown: linking.

Moby Games

Nothing to do with the musician, Moby Games is pretty much a catalogue of everything about every computer game ever.

You can find out who worked on a game, what people thought of it and pretty much anything else about it you want to know.

So… why do I bring it up?

Because I have an entry. Hooray!

It’ll be updated soon as another game I did a bit of work on is soon to be released.

RodeoClown: didn’t even have to put his own name in.

Doubling Up

Today Jesse is double the age he was when he was born.

I love watching these boys grow up.
